Together Through Change: Supporting Couples with Different Care Needs
Join us for an informative and compassionate educational session led by experts Courtney Lavander, MSG, LNHA, CMC, CDP, CEO and Owner of Lighthouse Senior Care Consultants, and Jennifer Denk, Clinical Social Worker and Therapist (LCSW, CDP, CDSGF, DCCS).
This session will explore the emotional, relational, and practical challenges couples face when one partner’s care needs differ from the other’s. Through expert insight and guided discussion, attendees will gain practical tools to strengthen communication, navigate shifting roles, and maintain a healthy, supportive partnership while adapting to evolving care dynamics.

Jennifer DenkLearn MoreJennifer Denk, Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, CDP, DCCS, CDSGF, graduated with a B.A in Psychology from George Mason University in 2001 and returned to complete a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2018. Jen has worked with persons with dementia and their families in many different capacities, including therapeutic recreation and as a social worker offering social services to participants and their families.

Courtney LavanderLearn MoreCourtney Lavander is a licensed Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administrator, a Certified Care Manager, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has over 26 years of experience working in the long-term care field as an Administrator/Executive Director, operating and managing Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Communities, and working as an Aging Life Care Professional/Geriatric Care Manager.
Courtney specializes in helping families determine what next steps to take when they are faced with the multitude of challenges and decisions that arise when a family member requires additional care. She helps families evaluate and understand their current and future needs, and she offers experienced advice to family members making these important life decisions.
