Testimonials

We promise to love and care for your family as we do our own.

We look forward to bringing the same heartfelt excellence reflected in these testimonials to The Kensington Reston when we open in 2021.

“I searched for several months and visited several facilities, before moving my sister into The Kensington 7 months ago.  I have been extremely pleased with the facility. The staff is always so nice and pleasant, you can tell they all love what they do.  They go above and beyond and have so much patience.

The staff, manager and nurses contact me on a regular basis and keep me updated on how she is doing. My sister is only 71 and has dementia and I was so guilt ridden about placing her in a home.  I was very fortunate that she has never asked why she is there or when is she going home.  But I am very happy to say she is always smiling and enjoys all the staff.

Unfortunately, a little over 2 months ago, The Kensington was affected by the coronavirus, as so many senior living facilities have been.  They have been great about keeping us updated and are doing their best in keeping things under control. Some staff even moved in there for a few months to help with the spread.

I would highly recommend The Kensington to anyone considering a place for their loved one.”

“My mom has lived in the assisted living segment of Kensington Park for a few years and we could not be happier. She did not make the move happily, but everyone–from the director to her dining room waiter–went above and beyond to make her feel welcome, comfortable, and at home, and she is now content and active and enjoying her life again.

Lots of the places we toured treat residents a bit like children, with crayons and glitter. Kensington Park recognizes that their residents are still adults who just need help, and activities and features are planned accordingly. Lectures, discussions, games, classes, clubs, outings and activities, music performances, movie nights, and daily happy hour (the highlight of every afternoon!) are all very much designed for adults who want to feel mentally stimulated and still contributing members of their communities.

Every day is a busy day, every encounter is warm and compassionate without being overbearing, communication with our family has been top-notch, and medical care is outstanding. Care is for the whole family–they want to know how I am as much as how my mom is and there is a very strong support network here for loved ones. Holidays and special occasions bring restaurant-quality lunches and dinners for the whole family, and everyone is always welcome. They say the coffee is always on and they mean it, literally and figuratively. Kensington Park is a dream come true for our family and we are beyond grateful.”

“The Kensington was a perfect fit! My mother had to move from another facility as she needed more care. The Kensington had just opened and were very welcoming and accommodating.”

– David S. – Son of a Resident at The Kensington White Plains

“Moving my father to The Kensington is the best decision we ever made. I felt like Goldilocks when I looked at other living facilities. Every place I visited was ‘too much’ or ‘not enough,’ but when I walked into The Kensington, it felt ‘just right.’

The staff are skilled and compassionate, and they treat everyone like family. The decor makes it feel like a hotel or an upscale apartment community. The food is excellent. My family likes The Kensington so much that my cousin has even started volunteering there for her high school community service project.

I’m decades away from retirement, but I’m already thinking about how I can move to The Kensington.”

– Joan O. – Daughter of Resident at The Kensington Falls Church

“The nursing and care giving staff are stupendous, always providing care with confidence, concern, and true kindness. Knowing that ones loved ones are in such a secure and caring facility, with skilled and devoted staff, throughout, is a lot to be thankful for, and I surely am grateful.”

– Heidi V. – Daughter of a Resident at The Kensington White Plains

“My family and I cannot thank The Kensington staff enough for the care and kindness shown to our Uncle. We knew he was being cared for and helped at a point in time in his life when he needed it most. We could not have done that on our own.

Thank you again to The Kensington. Your model works and I hope you can continue to provide the care and living environment to the many seniors who live with you.”

– Nancy O. – Niece of a Resident at Kensington Park

“There are not enough words to describe how amazing The Kensington is. My friend, who is like a second mom to me, moved here after being in a few other facilities. Truly, no other Alzheimer’s/senior care facility can compare. The staff to resident ratio is unmatched, and you really feel the love that the staff has for each of the residents. During these scary and unpredictable times, the one thing I can be sure of is that my mom is well cared for.

When my family and I first decided to move my mom here, we were blown away with the warm reception we received. This impression was not fleeting; the staff continuously makes us feel like we are, in a way, home. They’re always welcoming, inviting, and encouraging us to come to the facility’s events so that we can partake in the fun and love that makes The Kensington what it is. The staff is also incredibly accommodating when I wish to celebrate special events with my mom. They graciously helped plan a small get-together for my mom and her friends and even made them their own special meal. The most beautiful thing about The Kensington is that they strive to make sure that your loved ones are able to live with the quality they deserve. As my mom has Alzheimer’s, our time together may be short, but The Kensington is dedicated to making sure that the time we have left is filled with joy and love. Thank you, Kensington staff. We are truly blessed to be part of the Kengsination.”

“Excellent proactive care and tons of activities. It feels like a luxury cruise ship when you walk inside for the first time. I have witness many aspects of care, community outreach, and joy for the residents. So glad to have you part of ‪Sierra Madre.”

– Tom B. – Son of a Resident at The Kensington Sierra Madre

“The staff is what really sets this place apart. From my first meeting on, I sensed an authentic respect and empathy for the daunting challenges our family was facing. Now that my wife has settled there — happier and safer by far than she was under home care — I experience that concern and love every time I visit.”

– Gurney W. – Husband of a Resident at The Kensington White Plains

“I have peace of mind with Kensington Park. They provide security for my mom, whom was reluctant to move, but now she says, and I quote “having a blast.” She feels like she is on vacation. I can’t feel more secure and happy about where my mother is living, and I know that she is in a safe place. It’s the quality and care that she deserves.”

– Debbie M. – Daughter of a Resident at Kensington Park
