Step-by-step guide for getting hired at The Kensington Reston

Step 1

Visit our website and apply to one of our open positions! Interested in something that isn’t listed? You can contact us with your resume and we’ll reach out if something becomes available.

Step 2

Interview with our team! Join us at our community for an interview with the Manager of Team Member Services and Hiring Manager. This interview allows both parties to assess mutual fit and determine if the applicant’s skills and qualifications align with the position’s requirements.

Prepare for questions that gauge your experience, knowledge, and passion for healthcare. Applicants are also encouraged to ask questions about the role, responsibilities, and culture of The Kensington Reston.

Step 3

Shadow a team member for a job preview! Spend 1 hour with a current team member in the role you’re applying for. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet our residents, and see if The Kensington Reston is the perfect fit for you.

Step 4

Interview with Amy, our Executive Director, to share your professional experiences, career goals, and interest in becoming a part of our team. Learn about our Kensington story and what it’s like at The Kensington Reston.

Step 5

Begin your hiring paperwork with our Manager of Team Member Services, Parul. This will include a background check and medical screening before you can begin your training.

What else to expect

Medical screenings

The Kensington Reston adheres to the standard requirements of senior living which means we require applicants to undergo necessary medical screenings.

These screenings are crucial to assess an applicant’s physical health and well-being, ensuring they can fulfill their responsibilities effectively and without compromising the safety of residents.

Applicants are usually directed to a local doctor’s office, such as Patient First or a similar facility, to undergo this test.

Hiring paperwork and system setup

After all test results are received, our team will gather the necessary documents and set up new hires with the tools and resources they need to excel in their roles.

Safety Tour and Orientation

To ensure the safety and well-being of our team members and residents, Jose, the Director of Environmental Services, conducts a comprehensive safety tour.

This tour covers emergency procedures, building navigation, and guidelines for maintaining resident safety.
