Suzanne was born in Washington DC and grew up in Rockville. She graduated from Emory University and George Mason University School of Law. She practiced family law in Northern Virginia then took a long career break to raise her son and help her parents during their extended illnesses. Because her parents had planned well, she was able to oversee their care but didn’t have to provide care directly. Suzanne joined The Meakem Group in 2015. Her experience with her late parents fuels her passion for helping people plan for long-term care.
Courtney Lavander, MSG, LNHA, CMC, CDP, CEO & Owner of Lighthouse Senior Care Consultants
Courtney Lavander is a licensed Nursing Home and Assisted Living Administrator, a Certified Care Manager, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has over 26 years of experience working in the long-term care field as an Administrator/Executive Director, operating and managing Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Communities, and working as an Aging Life Care Professional/Geriatric Care Manager. She has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Gerontology from the University of Southern California. Courtney has served as an expert witness in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
