Week 4 in our Eight Week Series looks at what to do now that you have decided to explore a move into Senior Living. Our panelists will guide you through the downsizing process to include organizing, selling, or donating your belongings as well as selling your house. We will discuss what a Senior Move Manager does and how a realtor can assist you with finding one. Join Mary Curry, former Senior Move Manager and Move In Coordinator with The Kensington Reston and Richard Hampton, Realtor with Keller Williams as we discuss the steps to take when selling your home in preparation for a move to senior living.
Mary Curry comes from a Senior Move Management background. She has worked in virtually all the senior living communities in the DMV. Mary spent years helping seniors downsize their homes through organizing sessions while facilitating estate sales, auctions, and donations. Mary’s specialty was helping seniors visualize their new home in Senior Living with all the belongings they wanted to take. Mary designed floor plans with her clients with an emphasis on ease of movement through the space and making the new space feel as though it was transported from their old space. After years of move management, Mary realized Assisted Living and Memory Care residents had her heart and knew she had to be part of The Kensington Reston. She brings all her expertise of the moving process to this role. Her attention to detail and vast knowledge ensures a smooth and stress-free transition for our residents.
Mary truly has a passion to serve seniors. While waiting to join the team, she received a Certificate of Gerontology.
Mary is a Military Spouse who has just celebrated her husband, Gregg’s, retirement. They have settled here in Northern Virginia after a long career moving up and down the East Coast. Mary and her husband, Gregg, have 3 children, Daniel, Jack, and Maggie.
