We are proud to offer The Kensington Short Story Book Club in partnership with the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. Curated by Author Susan Minot and moderated by Jessica Strand, the Book Club features short story titles delivered to you digitally in an interactive platform of passionate readers encouraging inspiring discussions.

This week, hear from Karen Russell, novelist and short story writer. Her debut novel, Swamplandia!, was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. In 2009 the National Book Foundation named Russell a 5 under 35 honoree.

She was also the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation “Genius Grant” in 2013. Her most recent collection: Orange World and other stories (Knopf). Registered participants will receive a digital copy of the featured short story prior to the discussion. The first 25 registered participants will be mailed a hard copy of the book.
