A Memory Café is a gathering of individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) along with their caregivers, friends or family in a supportive and engaging environment.
Our group meets onsite at Falls Church Arts and is a social gathering: an opportunity to make new friends and interact with others without fear of embarrassment or being misunderstood. Many also find it an avenue for sharing concerns and providing support. Come and share a cup of coffee, participate in an activity while meeting others for support, companionship and fun. Make new connections, discover new tools and resources .
This is a bi-monthly event:
2nd Friday Session:
Cognitive exercises and brain games.
Led by an Insight Memory Care Center Staff Member.
4th Friday Session
Therapeutic art class for older adults with memory impairment.
Led by Sally Evans, Falls Church Arts Instructor.
We are partnering with Insight Memory Care Center. Since opening their doors in 1984, Insight Memory Care center’s priority has been to provide specialized care, support, and education for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments, their families, caregivers, and the community, through their adult day health and resource center.
